✨ WHAT I SIMPLY LOVE ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP ✨

✨WHAT I SIMPLY LOVE
ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP✨

In my case, I could not help becoming an entrepreneur: I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area - including the Silicon Valley - for almost 30 years, where it is simply impossible not to feel the contagion of the entrepreneurial spirit! Not to date myself, but I was there when Apple was born - and believe me, being an entrepreneur in those days was simply an absolutely irresistible calling! It still is today.

So what is the big attraction of being an entrepreneur? What makes it so very special?

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, up and down the Peninsula, it was about a certain magic being in the air. It was about an extraordinarily empowering energy. It was about being optimistic about forging a better future. It was about mingling with people sharing their positive energy. It was about thinking creatively, pushing against conventional boundaries. It was about building things vs. tearing down. It was about collaborating across multidisciplinary fields. It was about learning about new and exciting things. It was about working intensely, but also having an enormous amount of fun. It was about being joyful - and sometimes irreverent.

It was about rising to a myriad of challenges. About learning  how to best use your limited resources and how not to get discouraged. About letting your imagination soar above and beyond the sky. About meeting new people and being inspired by fantastically and extraordinarily committed minds from all sorts of backgrounds and countries. About building teams. About having a vision. About being surrounded by an infectious drive. About loving to help others. About being wildly enthusiastic and passionate about life itself.

Most of all, it was and is about FREEDOM. The freedom to pursue your dreams. The freedom to make your own decisions - good or bad. Freedom to learn from your bad decisions. Freedom to experience - which ultimately leads to wisdom and judgment. Freedom to grow personally and professionally. Freedom to express your ingenuity.

The absolute greatest thing about entrepreneurship, however, is that it is open to all. Origin, background and even educational level, matter little if wannabes have the intellectual curiosity, commitment, drive and persistence required.

None of this is to say being entrepreneur wasn't and isn't hard. It was and is. Very hard - but that is the subject for another post. :)

When you are a startup, you take all the help you can get!
